Hospice UK

Hospice UK is a national charity that supports hospice care across the United Kingdom, raising awareness, fundraising and providing specialist clinical knowledge, grants, and expertise.

The Hospice UK website features this useful ‘Planning Ahead’ tool, to help people think about their choices during health problems. It can be used alone, with a loved one, or with a doctor or nurse.

Marie Curie

The charity Marie Curie provides care and support for people living with any terminal illness, and their families.

Their free helpline offers practical and clinical information, and emotional support, and a webchat service is also available.

Together for Short Lives

This UK charity helps families caring for a seriously ill child. They offer a helpline and live online chat service, providing information, listening support and help to find in the right support and services in your local area.

They also support children’s palliative care networks and host regular network summit meetings.

The National Council for Palliative Care

The National Council for Palliative Care (NCPC) is the umbrella charity for all those involved in palliative, end of life and hospice care in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. They work with government, health and social care staff and people with personal experiences.

The care, support and rights section of this Scottish NHS website provides comprehensive advice on many different aspects of living with a life-threatening condition.

PHA UK Listening Line

This free, confidential support service is provided by the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA UK) to its members, and their families and loved ones.

The service allows you to schedule calls with PH and palliative care expert Paul Sephton, to talk through worries or concerns relating to your emotional wellbeing.
