Emily Gravenstede is 10 years old and lives with PAH. She wanted to share her Christmas holiday highlights to celebrate the fun she had with her family at the end of a difficult year.

2020 was a strange year for all of us because of coronavirus. It meant that all of our Christmas holidays were a bit different to normal, but I still had loads of fun. These were my favourite bits.

Going to see the outdoor light trail at Blenheim Palace

Just before Christmas, me and my family went to see the lights at Blenheim palace, it was freezing, but the lights were SO beautiful!

Baking

I baked lots of Christmas treats, my favourite was the yule log!  I also helped to ice our very big Christmas cake.

CHRISTMAS!

What is the best thing about the Christmas holidays? Christmas Day of course! Santa still visited and I got many amazing gifts. We ate loads of delicious food and zoomed with our family.

Games

During the holidays, me and my family- and a few other friends over Zoom, played games. We got a Nintendo Switch for Christmas along with some games for it, so we played on that for ages! My personal favourite was Animal Crossing New Horizons.

New Years Eve

Over Zoom, we had a party with another family. We played lots of Pictionary (My team won!) and had party food and drinks. I stayed up untill midnight and saw the London light show on the television.

I hope that you all had a fun Christmas too and that 2021 is a much better year for all of us. I can’t wait to see what fun I will have this year. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
